CHARACTERISTICS

EVO-FOAM by ARDEN LOMBARDO is a foaming liquid formulated based on synthetic surfactants with low surface tension, stabilizers and specific additives, which give it the property of generating foam almost instantly. This foam mixed with cement, sand and water allows the production of cellular concrete with microbubbles homogeneously distributed in the mortar.

APPLICATIONS OF CELLULAR CONCRETE ACCORDING TO ITS DENSITY

LESS THAN 600 kg/m3: Thermal insulation blocks and bricks; thermal insulation of roofs; sub-bases for rigid pavements; filling of corridors; insulation of ditches; fireproof coatings for steel structures; protection of tunnels and oil pipelines; sub-bases and covers of landfills; filling of caverns and underground shafts.
600 – 900 kg/m3: Subbases for terraces: subbases for paving cattle and pig pens; subbases for industrial pavements; blocks for internal divisions; mixed panels of normal concrete and lightweight cellular concrete.
900-1200 kg/m3: Blocks for external walls; partitions; mixed panels of concrete and lightweight cellular concrete for roofs; subbases for elastic pavements.
HIGHER THAN 1200 kg/m3: Prefabricated panels for civil and industrial fillings, formwork on site.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

FOAM GENERATING EQUIPMENT: It consists of a dosing pump, a compressor, a mixer and a contactor. The latter is a cylinder filled with spheres or flakes that allows close contact between the air and the EVO-FOAM by ARDEN LOMBARDO solution. This creates a compact, homogeneous and sufficiently fluid foam at the same time, allowing for rapid and effective incorporation into the grout. Foam can be generated through more rudimentary methods such as using drills or mixers for stirring, but the results obtained are not the same.

MIXER: This is a container in which water, cement and sand are mixed with foam. A mixer with a double-zeta type horizontal rotation axis is recommended. Materials can be mixed with a drum, but it is likely that a homogeneous cellular concrete will not be obtained.
SCREW PUMP: Used to pump fresh cellular concrete from the mixer.

RECOMMENDED MATERIALS

SAND: It is recommended to use calcareous or silica sand of river or mill origin.
CEMENT: It is recommended to use fresh, finely ground cement to ensure the formation of a thin, uniform film around the foam bubbles. It should not have lumps.

CONDITIONS OF USE

The percentages of foam concentration must be adjusted in each equipment according to the material to be obtained. It is suggested to prepare a solution with 1.5% v/v of EVO-FOAM by ARDEN LOMBARDO and 98.5% v/v of water.
In the foam generating equipment, this solution is mixed with compressed air and sent through the contactor. This will produce the foam that will be incorporated into the mixer.
The greater the foam added to the mixture of water, cement and sand, the lower the density of the wet mixture. A low density implies greater thermal and acoustic insulation but also lower resistance to compression of the dry material.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

EVO-FOAM by ARDEN LOMBARDO has a shelf life of 5 (five) years in its original packaging. The recommended storage temperature is 0°C to 50°C.

ECOLOGY

EVO-FOAM by ARDEN LOMBARDO is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. International regulations regarding its discharge into drainage and sewage systems must be complied with. It does not require special precautions in its handling. Consult the safety data sheet for additional information.
